Hearing and Vision Screenings- The Bay County Health Department provides screening by certified technicians in all Bay County schools, Day Cares and Head Start preschools. Immunization- The Bay County Health Department provides immunization services to individuals to prevent wide spread occurence of vaccine preventable disease. The following are available: communicable disease and immunization information, all childhood and adult immunizations, influenza and pneumonia vaccinations, TB screening and treatment, education, Hepatitis A, B and Meningococcal vaccinations and Immunization Coalition. MSS/ISS Support Services- The Bay County Health Department provides MSS/ISS Support Services. Support is provided to pregnant women and families with infants throughout pregnancy and until the child is three years old. The following services are provided: childbirth/parenting and health education; home visits by public health nurse, registered dietitian and social worker; prenatal, postpartum and newborn health care information; psychosocial and nutritional assessment; assistance with transportation; referral to community services and coordination with medical care providers and community resources. Women, Infant and Children Supplemental Food Program (WIC)- The Bay County Health Department provides a supplemental food program providing nutritious foods and nutrition education support. Services are also in Pinconning. To qualify, the individual must be pregnant, breastfeeding, have an infant or child under 5 years, live in Bay County, meet income eligibility and participate in medical/nutritional screening.
