Spring BreakJust a reminder that Spring Break will be Monday, March 29th through Friday, April 2, 2010. School will resume on Monday April 5, 2010. Spring ForwardOn Saturday night, March 13th, please remember to move your clocks ahead one hour. Spring is on its way! North Central Accreditation ApprovalI'm sure many of you have heard that BAISD accreditation has been extended. This is great news. I would like to thank everyone that assisted with the two-year report. I would like to extend a special thanks to Brenda Peppel and Dave Sevener for all their efforts in the completion and submittal of our report. OpportunityThis past week I had the opportunity to visit a number of programs and classrooms. I can't thank staff enough for all you do for and with our students. So many great things are happening every day. This truly is a great place to work. Race To The TopBy now I'm sure you have heard that Michigan did not receive RTTT funding in the first round. I have been told that the State might reapply in June. That decision has yet to be made. As more information unfolds, I will keep you posted. Governor's Retirement PlanThis, too, is still up in the air. I'm told that we will see some bills coming forward in the near future. Something will need to happen soon so that people can make plans. As I hear more information, I will pass it along. Special Education ASD NewsletterAttached is a copy of the first ASD Newsletter. Please enjoy. ReminderPlease keep your heat on 68° during the winter months and the air conditioning at 72° during the summer months. This really helps to keep our costs down and we appreciate your help with this process. Birthday WishesHappy Birthday to all of you! Words to live by this week:If your ship doesn't come in, swim out to it. -Jonathan Winters Bay-Arenac ISD Career Center Pink SheetTo view a copy of the Pink sheet, please click here. |
