Commonly Used Terms

 

  • ASD: Academic Skill Development
  • GED: General Education Development Credential
  • HSC: High School Completion
  • CTE: Career Technical Education
  • TBD: To Be Determined
  • NovaNETTM: The name of the computer software used in the GED Preparation and High School Diploma classes
  • Off-Site Classes: Locations other than the Career Center where students may take classes. The two offsite labs are currently the Bay County Community Center and the Living and Learning Center - Arenac Campus in Standish.
  • Tuition: The amount of money charged for a class
  • TABE Test: The name of the assessment form that the participants take to assess their skills and place them in the appropriate classes
  • Orientation: The mandatory meeting for participants before they begin their classes. (Orientation will take place the first night of classes for the pupils and career technical students.)
  • Daytime Career Technical: These are classes that are offered to area juniors and seniors in high school. As space allows adults may be able to enroll. The classes run 5 days a week from either 7:55 - 10:35 a.m. OR 12:00 - 2:40 p.m.

Fall 2010 Registration

Begins Monday, August 23, 2010

Certified Nursing Assistant  ONLY: Registrations will be taken on a first come first serve basis until program is full starting Monday, August 23, 2010 from  9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

All Other Adult Education Program Registrations: Registrations will be taken on a first come first serve basis until program(s) are full starting Monday, August 23, 2010 from 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

August 24 - 31, 2010 Registration Hours will be

Monday - Thursday from 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Starting Tuesday, September 7, 2010, registrations will be taken Monday - Thursday from 1:00 - 7:00 p.m. 

Registrations will NOT be taken on Fridays.

   Classes begin week of September 7, 2010.
