PROGRAM PROFILE
Students are instructed in the basic fundamentals of Drafting and Engineering standards needed for entry level positions in this area. Drafters prepare technical drawings to build industrial machinery and other manufactured products. Mechanical drafters draw detail working diagrams of machinery and mechanical devices, including dimensions, tolerances, finishes and other engineering information. Students are taught using demonstration, technical hands-on-learning experiences, group design projects and field trips. Students work cooperatively with other Career Center programs to design and build projects.
