Bullywatch is Watched Through State
The image of the childhood "bully" is one that is familiar to most teachers, parents, and students. Bay-Arenac ISD, through its new Bullywatch (A Primer for Everyone) publication, hopes to help the home and school communities address the issue of bullying behavior and begin dialogue on how to remedy the situation.
Since Marty Doring, Bay-Arenac ISD's Coordinator of Health & Drug Education, developed the primer in late Summer, interest throughout the state in Bullywatch has swelled. Bay-Arenac ISD has distributed copies of the publication to state education associates. Marty and the Bullywatch work have been the focus of significant print and broadcast coverage.
The 50-page primer includes handout pages to be used in counseling and intervention with parents and students, with tips for developing school or community policies.
