Bay Area Family Y Child Care

Affordable, high-quality childcare services as well as a special preschool program are available at the Bay Area Family Y. Childcare services are offered for children from ages three weeks through 12-years old. A Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) is offered for eligible four-year-olds.

                       school year and meet certain criteria to qualify for GSRP preschool.

Better Kid Care

Better Kid Care provides current, and new childcare providers throughout Michigan with access to high-quality, evidence-based professional development through the MSU Extension network of county offices. Professional development services include information on childcare to interested licensed/registered and informal providers, relatives providing child care for infants and children, and parents. Services include: 1) printed information such as brochures and newsletters; 2) satellite programs; 3) educational kits for check-out; 4) online programs; 5) Face-to-face training modules; 6) Support and mentoring for relative care providers; 7) day care aides, and licensed providers; 8) Home visiting educational services to childcare and relative care providers. Services include an 18-hour training program for relative care providers that provides a shortened version of the information provided to those seeking a day care license.

Saginaw Valley Regional 4C

Saginaw Valley Regional 4C maintains a database of regulated/licensed childcare providers in Bay and Arenac County. Able to provide lists of childcare providers tailored to meet each parent's need. 4C also provides support, resources, and training opportunities for child care providers and their staff, as well as CDA information and technical assistance to child care providers. The 4C office also administers a Preschool Scholarship Program in Bay County for low-income families.
