Mike's Monday Memo for the week of April 16, 2007

Here’s what’s up for the week of April 16, 2007:

1	Spring HAS arrived —	Maybe, just maybe, spring has arrived!
2	Board Meeting Budget Presentation —	Over the next month, Bruce Curtiss and I will be presenting our 2007-2008 ISD budget to our local school districts. Each of our LEAs must see our budget before our Board can approve it.
3	Kate’s Challenge —	It’s that time of year again! On Saturday, May 12, 2007, we are having the 9th annual race in Kate Carney’s memory. All staff is invited to join and run or walk in the race beginning and ending at the Bay-Arenac Community High School. It’s a family affair and there is an event for people of all ages. 4	Baby News —	Beth and Bob Jarve are proud grandparents of Nicholas Patrick Jarve, born Saturday, April 14th to Dr. Robert and Amber Jarve of Rockford, MI. Nicholas joins brother Daniel who turned 2 years old on April 7. Congratulations!
5	North Central Accreditation —	Bay-Arenac ISD has volunteered to be the first ISD to go through North Central Accreditation. Please read the attached on what NCA is all about. If you would like to be involved and work on one of the seven strategies, please call Dave Sevener at x3201. (View document by clicking on the word attached in the above paragraph.)
6	Administrative Professional’s Day —	Just as a reminder, Wednesday, April 25th, is Administrative Professional’s Day. Please take just a few minutes to thank these hard working individuals. Our Office Professionals are number one in my book.
7	Regular Board Meeting —	This evening, our Board of Education will conduct their regular monthly meeting. Our next meeting will be April 23rd here at the Educational Service Center. This will be our Board’s Annual Retreat meeting and an opportunity for our Board of Education to review our Strategic Plan.
