Mike's Monday Memo 12/17/2007 Mike’s Monday Memo
Here’s what’s up for the week of December 17, 2007:
- Happy Holidays - On behalf of the Board of Education, we would like to wish each of you and your families a wonderful holiday season. This is the time of year that we can reflect on the wonderful events of the past year and look forward to what the future might hold. Have a safe and joyful holiday.
- Happy New Year – I hope that the New Year is full of great things for each of you! This will be a very exciting year for America. 2008 is an election year. We have much to be thankful for in this great country. Finally, I hope all your New Year resolutions are met!
3. Santa Visit – The word on the street is that Santa Claus will be visiting classrooms and buildings this week. I think the “big guy” will be in and out of our programs on December 19th and 20.
- Last Paycheck for 2007 – The last paycheck for 2007 will be Friday, December 28, 2007.
5. Office Closing Reminder – The Educational Service Center will be closed on the following dates: December 24, 25, December 31, and January 1, 2008.
6. School Closings – Another way to view the surrounding school closings is via the Internet. Go to our homepage, www.baisd.net. At the bottom left side of the page you’ll see “School Closings.” Click on that link and it will take you to the WNEM TV5 page to view the closings.
7. Student Club Lighthouse Sales – Student club members will be selling lighthouses to raise money for a community service project named “Mission Possible” to benefit the Good Samaritan Rescue Mission. Students will be selling Yellow Lighthouses for $1.00. Student Officers and the counseling center will be selling the $5.00 (gold) and $10.00 (blue) lighthouses. All proceeds will benefit the Rescue Mission to remodel and furnish a room in the “Men’s Wing” of the Mission. This is a new project and will cost $4,000 per room. The students would love to raise enough money for at least one room. Thanks for supporting our students and the “Mission Possible” project. If you have any questions, please contact Valerie at extension 3420 at the Career Center.
8. Bay-Arenac ISD Career Center T-Shirt and Hoodie Fundraiser – Our Career Center Marketing & Management Technical Academy class is introducing spiritshop.com. The class is selling specially designed t-shirts and hoodies for a low price: t-shirts are available for $12.00 and hoodies are $28.00. Items are sold during break at the Career Center. To place an order, the Marketing Academy classroom can be directly contacted at 667-8906.
9. Mike’s Monday Memo – There will not be another memo sent out until Monday, January 7, 2008 due to the Christmas and New Year’s holiday.
