Mike's Monday Memo for the week of January 21, 2008 01/21/2008 Here’s what’s up for the week of January 21, 2008:
- Hard to Believe – This is the last full week of January. Just keep thinking there are only 59 more days until SPRING! It’s just around the corner.
- Cold and Flu Season – It’s that time of year when we find ourselves catching the cold or flu BUG. Just a reminder to take care of yourself. You are all too important to us, so please try to stay healthy.
- Martin Luther King Day – Today is the day that America has identified to recognize a great American, Dr. King. Dr. King stood for all Americans. This is a great country that we live in. We truly are the melting pot of the world.
- NCA – We have attached the commendations and recommendations from the final report for your review. I will be asking each of the Strategic Planning teams to incorporate as many of the recommendations as possible into their strategies.
- Sad news – Debbie Ellsworth’s father, Paul Scaggs passed away last Monday, January 14, 2008. Please keep Debbie and her family in your thoughts and prayers.
- Maintenance Department – A special thanks goes out to the Maintenance Department from Heather Rousseau in our Starting Strong office. Heather writes: On Monday mornings, our program offers a play group at the Career Center in the preschool room. This past Monday, I had a lot to unload and two gentlemen in the maintenance crew, walking by, stopped to help me carry things in. We are so appreciative of the maintenance staff in both buildings and cannot say enough about how helpful they are. Thank you!
- Regular Board Meeting – Our January meeting will be held tonight at 4:00 p.m. at the Educational Service Center. Staff is always welcome.
- Strategic Planning Work Groups – Just a note to once again thank all of our staff who is involved in our strategic planning process. All your hard work is greatly appreciated. You are helping to make a difference and our Board of Education is well aware of all your efforts to help make our ISD the very best it can be!
- Birthday Wishes – Happy Birthday!
