Mike?s Monday Memo for the week of January 28, 2008

Here’s what’s up for the week of January 28, 2008:

1.	Ground Hog Day –	Saturday, February 2, 2008 is the official day. Will Mr. or Mrs. Hog see his/her shadow? We can only wait and see.
2.	North Central Accreditation –	Our Board of Education has accepted the North Central final report. Our Board members have asked that I thank each and every one of our employees for all their hard work in helping make this accreditation possible. We have a great ISD and it’s because of the employees who work here. Thanks again for all your help.
3.	Super Bowl Weekend –	This weekend the New York Giants will take on the New England Patriots. The cost of a two minute commercial is 2.7 million dollars. Hey, we all watch the game for the commercials right? Enjoy the game!
4.	January Weather Facts –	This will brighten your day! Average Daily High 28 Average Daily Low 14 Record High 60 Record Low -18 Precipitation 1.63 inches
5.	Reminder to all you romantics –	Valentine’s Day is just two weeks away. I would encourage you all to start thinking about dinner reservations, cards and candy. Love is in the air.
6.	Special Olympic Sweetheart Country Dance –	Please see the attachment regarding this dance. If anyone is interested in tickets, they can contact Janelle Miller at extension 3508. Get your tickets early because they are going fast!
7.	Imagination Library Update –	In early February, over 4,500 children will receive a new book. I want to send a special thanks to all our staff that helped to make this program possible from your personal donations to the time you spent working on this project.
8.	Board Meeting Dates –	The Board Work Session will be held on Monday, February 4. The meeting to conduct the Superintendent’s Annual Evaluation will be held on Monday, February 11. The Regular Board meeting will be held on Monday, February 18. All meetings will begin at 4:00 p.m. at the Educational Service Center. As always, staff is welcome to attend.
