Mikes Monday Memo for the Week of March 17, 2008

Here’s what’s up for the week of March 17, 2008:

 
1. Happy St. Patrick’s Day – I would like to wish each of you a great St. Patrick’s Day. This is the one day of the year that everyone can be just a little Irish!
2. Spring Break – Our Career Center and Special Education programs will be closed starting on Monday, March 31st and will be back in session on Monday, April 7.
3. Easter Sunday – On behalf of the Board of Education, I would like to wish our entire staff a wonderful Easter weekend.
4. First Day of Spring – This Thursday will be the first day of spring. It’s about time. It has been a long…………… winter.
5. Bay-Arenac ISD Closed – Our ISD offices will be closed this Friday, March 21. Employee checks will be distributed on Thursday, March 20, 2008.
6. Success – It is derived from determination to succeed. Once that fact is realized, then you are ready to strike out on your own journey to success.              – Jerome A. Waterman
7. Baby News – Lisa Gilles (speech therapist) had a baby girl on Friday, March 7. Her name is Riley Anne and she weighed 6 pounds 8 ounces and was 18 ¼ inches long. Congratulations to the Gilles family!
8. Award News – Cathy LaLonde, Agri-Science teacher at the Career Center, was presented with an FFA State Honorary Degree for outstanding service and dedication to the organization. The award was presented to Cathy at the opening session of the 80th FFA State Convention on March 5th at the Wharton Center at Michigan State University. Cathy received both a plaque and a medal. Congratulations Cathy!
