Mike's Monday Memo 06/07/2005 Here´s what´s up for the week of June 6, 2005:
1. Special Thanks - On behalf of the Bay-Arenac ISD Board of Education I would like to thank each and every one of our staff members for helping make the 2004-2005 school year such a tremendous success. Each of you contributed in your own special way to make this year one of our very best. By working together we can make a difference.
2. Summer Hours - Just a reminder that during the summer months our office will be open during the following times: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, Monday, June 13 through Friday, August 19. If you need to see someone, it is always best to call ahead as many of our staff will be taking their much deserved vacations during this time as well. So remember to call first!
3. Summer Programs - As many of you are aware, our ISD offers many summer programs for our students from special education extended programming to summer school at our Career Center. To those staff members that are involved in summer programs I thank you and wish you a successful program.
4. Baby News - I´m not sure how we missed this but it´s better late than never! Our AI Teacher at Riegel, Rebecca Smith brought a baby boy into the world on May 17th. Jackson Russell weighed 8 pounds 9 ounces and was 22" long. Congratulations Rebecca!
5. Summer Cleaning - This summer, as with every summer, our custodial and maintenance crew will be working on a number of summer projects in preparation of the upcoming school year. A list of a few of the summer projects that we have planned are as follows: Career Center roof repair; painting at the LLC-Bay Campus, LLC-Arenac Campus, Career Center and the Educational Service Center; parking lot repairs at the Career Center; remodel Career Center Cafeteria; new classroom remodel at LLC-Arenac Campus, and LLC-Bay Campus front office area; as well as the annual cleaning of all our classrooms. As the regular school year draws to a close summer cleaning is heating up.
6. Board Election - Our annual School Board Election will be held on Monday June 6th at 7:00 pm at the ESC. Secondly, our regular work session will also be held this afternoon at 4:00 pm at the ESC as well. Staff is always welcome.
7. August 24, 2005 Opening Day Event - Just a reminder that our annual opening day event has been set for Wednesday, August 24, 2005. Please mark your calendar. More information will be forthcoming to you the end of July or beginning of August.
8. Contact the Superintendent - If you have questions during the summer I can be reached at 667-3273 during regular business hours, or Monday-Thursday evening at 239-9839, Friday-Sunday at 989-845-4676.
9. Have a Great Summer - Finally, I would like to wish each of you a great summer! Forget about the high gas prices and forget about all the rain. Get out and enjoy the weather. Remember to laugh a lot, spend time with loved ones, read a good book, and take time for you. Summer is the time to "re-charge" your personal batteries. See you all in August!
10. Summer Birthday Wishes for June, July, and August!
