Mike's Monday Memo

10/11/2005

Here’s what’s up for the week of October 10, 2005

  1. Happy Columbus Day - Just a reminder that there will be no mail today.

  2. Just wanted to say THANKS - I try to send notes and speak to many of you in person. Many of you I don’t see on a regular basis, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t think you are not important to our organization. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK AND CONTINUED EFFORTS IN HELPING MAKE BAISD THE BEST WE CAN BE!

  3. Absentee Ballots - Just as a reminder, if you will be out of town on Tuesday, November 1st, you can request an absentee ballot. You will need to contact your village, city, or township office to request the information. Both Bay City and Pinconning are requesting Bond mill age.

  4. Supplemental Wellness Benefit 2006 – Open enrollment for the supplemental wellness benefit will coincide with the open enrollment for Section 125. This open enrollment period will begin November 1, 2005 and close November 30, 2005. Enrollment information is forthcoming.

  5. Making Decisions - Think about this! – What’s Right?
    *  Is it legal?
    *  Does it comply with rules and guidelines of the organization?
    *  Will I be comfortable, guilt-free, or even happy if I do it?
    *  Does it support the organization goals, commitments and mission?
    *  Would I do it to my family or friends?
    *  Would the most ethical individual I know of do it?

  6. Imagination Library Update - As of Tuesday, October 4, 2005 we have enrolled over 3,600 children. Thanks again to all the staff that have helped or made donations. Reading to children does make a difference. We are making a difference in the lives of children.

  7. Happy News – Jaime Linkowski, our School Psychologist at the Living and Learning Center, Bay Campus, has a new addition to her family! Maya Katherine made her appearance on October 3, 2005 at 12:52pm. She weighed 6 lbs 8 oz and was 19 ½ inches long. Maya is doing very well and is a joy to the family. Congratulations Jaime!

  8. Associate Director of Technology Position - Just as an update we will be conducting interviews in the near future. I hope to have someone in place no later than the first of the year.
