Mike's Monday Memo

01/04/2006

Here’s what’s up for the week of January 3, 2006:

  1. Happy New Year! – On behalf of the Board of Education, I would like to wish each of you a wonderful new year. It’s hard to believe 2006 is here!

  2. Big Push – For those of you that work directly with students in the classrooms, the next few months are very important for student instruction. Remember, great expectations can result in wonderful rewards. Push our students to achieve as much as they can.

  3. Sad News – I am sorry to inform you that Darlene Ahlberg’s father passed away over the Christmas Holiday. Please keep Darlene and her family in your thoughts and prayers during this sad time.

  4. Baby News – Two of our Trombley Center employees have new additions to their families. Jenny Trippeer brought a baby boy into the world on January 2, 2006 at 2:45 a.m. Her son, Ryan Michael weighed in at 7 lbs. 2 oz. and was 21 ½ inches long. Also, Chris Failing delivered a healthy baby boy, Luke Thomas on January 3, 2006 at 6:30 a.m. Luke weighed in at 8 lbs. 3 oz. and was 20 inches long. Congratulations to Jenny and Chris!

  5. Next Board Meeting – Due to the New Year’s Holiday, our Board meeting was canceled for January 2, 2006. The next Work Session will be Monday, January 16, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. at the Educational Service Center.

  6. Board Members Recognition Month – Each January we are reminded that this month has been designated as School Board Recognition month. We have seven very diligent individuals who care deeply about our students, the staff, and the programs we offer. I would suggest that the next time you see one of our Board members you thank them for the job they are doing. Each of them are a very important part of the team we call BAISD.

  7. Payroll Changes Reminder – If you have any changes on your deductions or payroll information for 2006 you are encouraged to contact Connie Frank at ext. 3256 so she can make the necessary changes for the new calendar year.

  8. Union Representatives Meeting – Our next scheduled meeting is Tuesday, January 10th at 7:00 a.m. at our Career Center.

  9. Birthday Wishes – 1/01 Kayla Courneya, Aladia Mazique, Peggy Walkowiak, David Winters; 1/03 Dave Bourdon, Kimberly Elmore, Joseph Idalski, Terri Irwin; 1/04 Gerard Anthony, Christine Klass; 1/05 Linda Engelhardt; 1/07 Jan Bragiel; 1/08 Sara Katenhus, Cort Schepeler. Happy Birthday!
