Mike's Monday Memo March 20, 2006

03/20/2006
Here’s what’s up for the week of March 20, 2006:

 1.

Spring Break -

Our annual spring break begins this Friday. Our Career Center and Special Education programs will be closed this Monday, March 27th and will be back in session on Friday, March 31st.  I hope everyone has a great week.

2.   First Day of Spring -   Today is the first day of spring. I, for one, didn’t think it would ever get here!

3.   Imagination Library Update -   As of March 17, 2006, we have over 3,900 children registered for our Imagination Library program.  Great work!

4.

Budget Cuts -

Our local districts continue to face challenging budget issues and their program cuts often spill over into our programs.
Please be assured that we will continue to offer quality programs for our students.  We do this because we truly have
outstanding employees who continue to put our students and our local districts’ needs above their own.

5.   Board Meeting -   Our next meeting is tonight at 4:00 pm in the Essexville-Hampton room.  Staff is always welcome.

6.   Union President Meeting -   Just a reminder that I will be meeting with our Union Representatives on Tuesday, March 21 at the Career Center Blooming Chef’s small meeting room at 7:00 am.

7.   Copyright Reminder-   I need to remind our staff that if you copy or download music or videos on your district computer it is a violation of Board Policy and Federal Law. Please remove these items from your computer. If you have any questions, please call Bev Hauk at 667-3221 in our Technology Department.

8.    Birthday Wishes –   Hope your birthdays are wonderful!

Words to live by this week:

You may be disappointed if you fail, but you are doomed if you don’t try.
