Mike's Monday Memo 04/03/2006 Here’s what’s up for the week of April 3, 2006:
- Welcome Back – For those of you that had a break last week, I would like to welcome you back. Spring is here! Bonnie Ott shared the attached pictures with me. Does this look like someone you saw on the beach?
- Superintendent Survey - I would like to thank each of you that took the time to complete our survey. Overall, the comments indicate we are doing a good job. As with any organization, we always have room for improvement and your comments help me focus on our mission. The biggest thing for me is that the survey confirms we all work for a great organization with a staff and Board of Education that works hard to be the best we can be. Thanks again.
- Classroom Visits – Again, I would ask that you call me when you have something you would like me to be a part of or to see. If it works out with my schedule, I’m more than willing to lend a helping hand. I will continue to stop by to just look in. So when you see me, pull me in and share the great things you are doing. That’s the fun part of my job.
- Special Thanks - I need to give a special thanks to our custodial and maintenance department and full-year staff for all their hard work this past week. Often times we forget all the work that gets done during school break. These hard working folks clean our buildings, address our printing needs, prepare our Board information, answer e-mails and phone calls all with a smile and a pleasant voice. When you see these great people tell them THANKS.
- Carpeting Installed - This past week our Career Center had “new” carpeting installed in the office area. It looks great! This week new carpeting will be installed in our new Special Education area here at the Educational Service Center.
- Meeting with our Legislators - This Friday, April 7th, our local Superintendents and Board members will have the opportunity to meet with our state legislators. I am sure that the new High School Graduation Requirements will be a topic of discussion as well as school funding. If you have a burning question that you would like me to ask, please send your question via e-mail. I would be more than happy to ask the question on your behalf.
- Regular Board Meeting – Our next meeting is tonight at 4:00 pm. Staff is always welcome to attend.
- Daylight Savings Time – If you got to work today an hour early, it might indicate that you didn’t adjust your clock. Days are getting longer and that is a good thing.
- Birthday Wishes – 4/3 Kevin Bitzer; 4/4 Michael Mercer and Shelley Szilagyi; 4/5 Juliann Wonch; 4/7 Amy Estes; 4/8 Kimberly Kernstock; 4/9 Kelly Hair. Happy Birthday to everyone!
Words to live by this week:
Be kind. Every person you meet is fighting a hard battle. |
