Through the year, I will be reminding our staff about the things I talked about on Opening Day. Remember, in order to “Build our Student’s Tomorrows,” we must be willing to give Recognition for our success, Communicate our accomplishments, provide Leadership to each other. This past Thursday evening on September 21, our Career Center held a parent orientation. I would like to congratulate the entire staff for all their efforts. As I walked around the building I heard nothing but positive comments. Isn’t it great to work for such a tremendous organization like ours! |

NEW MDE Amendment – |
In April of this year, the Michigan Legislature enacted Public Act 118 which amends the Michigan School Code. The amendment requires completion of a 3 semester credit hour course of study in diagnostic and remediation for the renewal of a Provisional certificate or for advancement to the Professional Education certificate. This requirement is effective July 1, 2007. If you are provisionally certified and must either renew your certificate or are in a planned program to acquire your Professional Education certificate after July 1, 2007, you must meet the requirements. Career Center Car Wash – |
The Auto Mechanic’s Program, along with the support of the staff and students from the Auto Body Repair class, are sponsoring a Car Wash in both areas on Wednesday, October 4, 2006. Car wash times will be from 8:15 am to 10:15 am for the morning session and from 12:15 pm to 2:15 pm in the afternoon session. The minimum cost is $2.00 per vehicle. This year the proceeds will benefit the family of John Collins. John would have been a senior at AuGres High School this school year and a second year student in our Auto Mechanic’s classroom. John passed away tragically this past summer. In his honor, we would like to make this donation to his family and let them know that we still miss John very much, and he continues to be in our thoughts! Please mark your calendar with this date, get your “ride” washed and help with a great benefit. |
