Mike's Monday Memo

12/12/2006
Here’s what’s up for the week of December 11, 2006:

  1. Christmas HolidayThe Christmas holiday is fast approaching.  All buildings will be closed on December 25 and 26, 2006, and January 1 and 2, 2007.  Any 52-week employee who chooses to not work on December 27, 28, and 29 needs to complete a vacation slip.

  2. Special Ed – Just as an FYI, Special Ed programs return to work from Christmas break on Monday,
    January 8, 2007.

  3. Santa Visit - I heard from a very reliable source that the “Big Guy” will be making his annual visit to a number of our programs. Remember, Santa has a list and he is checking it twice!

  4. Career Center Health Wing Update - The Board of Education has approved the following programs for our “new” wing: Sports Medicine/Physical Therapy, Nursing Assistance, Veterinary Science, Forensic Science, as well as a lecture hall.

  5. Winter Begins - The first day of winter is December 22, 2006.  That is also the shortest daylight day of the year.  Hey, look at the bright side; the days (daylight) are going to start getting longer after the 22.  I’m always looking for the silver lining.

  6. Share Good NEWS - Hey, I need your help, please send me special announcements about what you or your students are doing. I enjoy hearing from you. Help me BLOW YOUR HORN!

  7. Career Center Community Service Projects –  Project Blue Light – What is Project Blue Light? THINK BLUE! Shine a blue light this holiday season to remember the law enforcement officers who have made the supreme sacrifice, and those still working to keep our streets and homes safe. The Career Center’s law enforcement students and staff will be celebrating Project Blue Light at the First Presbyterian Church at 805 Center Avenue in Bay City tonight, December 11th at 7:00 p.m.

  8. Special Education Open House LLC-Bay – Craft items from the students will be on sale on Thursday,
    December 14, 2006, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Living & Learning Center-Bay Campus.

  9. Birthday Wishes – Hope everyone has a wonderful birthday!
    12/11 Kimberly Haley-Stein
    12/12 Tim Rivard
    12/14 Diane Kiebel
12/16 Kathleen Dardas, Robert Pijaszek, and Lori Welch.
