Mike's Monday Memo

01/09/2007

Here’s what’s up for the week of January 8, 2007:

  1. The weather - It’s hard to believe that we have had little or no snow. This has to help all of our heating bills. Hey, I’m always looking for the silver lining.

  2. Mid-Year – It’s hard to imagine that we are approaching the mid point of our school year. As the saying goes, “time flies when you’re having fun.”

  3. Strategy Planning - Just a reminder. If you are interested in seeing the district’s progress on our strategies you can review the updates on our website. If after reviewing our strategies you think you would like to be involved, please contact the chairperson for more information. By working together, we can all help make our ISD the best in the state.

  4. State-Aid – Once again, we will be hearing more information on the State budget. The State’s Revenue-Sharing Conference will once again take place this month. Once the conference is held and holiday shopping numbers are tallied, we will have a better idea as to what our budget will look like. I’ll keep you posted.

  5. Positive Outlook - Just a little reminder that as an employee of our ISD, it is always our responsibility to be positive when working with our students and our local districts. We are a service agency and our mission is to provide “Educational Excellence.” This is a great ISD and we have wonderful people that work here. It’s important that we continue to be positive about what we do each and every day. POSITIVE THINKING!

  6. Good NEWS - Don’t forget to send good news to me. I want to be able to share it with our staff. So come on, share the news!

  7. Birthday News – Happy Birthday!!!
    Cort Schepeler  - January 8
    Bill Wisniewski - January 10
    Chris Connors - January 11
    Kellie Bunnell - January 12
    Daniel Keene - January 14
Words to live by this week:

Happiness is like a butterfly. The more you chase it, the more it will elude you. But if you turn your attention to other things, it comes softly and sits on your shoulder.
