Here’s what’s up for the week of February 12, 2007:
-
Valentine’s Day – Don’t forget that special someone on Wednesday, February 14.
-
Governor Granholm's State of the State Address - We have attached the Governor’s “State of the State Address” on education for your review. Time will tell when and if the plan outlined will be implemented.
-
Winter Taxes – Just a reminder that winter property taxes are due on Wednesday February 14, 2007.
-
Special Events - If you have a special event planned and you would like me to visit, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I will make every effort to attend.
-
Congratulations – Madhu Vasudevan was sworn in as a U.S. Citizen on Wednesday, February 7, 2007.
-
FOIA Request – On Friday, February 2, 2007, we received an FOIA request for names and addresses of all our employees. All schools in our ISD also received the request.
-
Records Retention – Emails are records too. You may know that the State requires school districts to retain certain types of school records for specific periods of time. What you may not know is that certain emails can be considered records as well. Emails that are considered records have the same retention requirements that their paper counterparts do. The attached email_records.pdf file defines the different types of email records. Please take a careful look at it. Next month we’ll discuss why certain types of emails are considered full-fledged records. For questions or comments, contact Craig Loree at 667-3250 or loreec@baisd.net.
-
Next Regular Board Meeting - The next regular Board meeting will be Monday February 19, 2007. Staff is always welcome.
-
Birthday Wishes – Happy Birthday!
2/12 Nancy Gielda
Jennifer Rupprecht
2/16 Chrisann Failing.
