Superintendent
Michael R. Dewey joined Bay-Arenac ISD as the superintendent in July 2002. He most recently had served as superintendent of Chesaning Union Schools in Chesaning, Michigan.
Mike brought a wealth of experience as an educator and boundless energy with him. He immediately became an active participant in both Bay-Arenac ISD programs and services and numerous community organizations. He serves on the Boards of United Way, the Human Service Collaborative Council, the Multi-purpose Collaborative Body, The Bay Area Community Foundation, and the Bay City D.D.A.
In addition, he is widely respected as a statewide leader through his work as head of the Workforce Development Board and the state Early Childhood Advisory Team established by the governor, which is shaping Early Childhood Services for Michigan.
Bay-Arenac ISD staff enjoy seeing their superintendent on a regular basis, in a variety of settings, setting the tone and leading our organization through the challenging issues we face. |
