GED Testing

Bay-Arenac ISD Adult and Continuing Education operates a Pearson-Vue GED Testing Center at the Bay-Arenac ISD Career Centerwhich is open to both adult education students and other GED testers.

REGISTRATION

If you are interested in taking the GED Test you can register online at www.ged.com. When you register you will create a “MyGED” account. This account will also allow you to view test results and requests transcripts.

You may also register by calling 1-877-EXAM-GED or 1-877-392-6433 Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Central Standard Time.

You will schedule your test time and location and pay for your exam. Make sure that you have your credit or debit card handy as well as your identification and social security number.

You can take the individual parts of the exam in any order and time frame that you choose.  At our testing site, you can complete two parts in one night.  It will take two nights to complete all four parts.  At some testing sites, you can take all four parts of the exam in one day.

GED’s website is the best place to check on availability. They handle all of the scheduling and hold all of the information on open testing sites.

Adult High School Diploma and GED Preparation

COST

The State of Michigan has set the cost of $37.50 per test. There are four tests that you need to take to receive your credential so the total cost is $150. You will pay for your tests at the time of registration. PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU ARE ENROLLED IN OUR GED PREPARATION PROGRAM, GED TESTING IS FREE! 

ACCOMMODATIONS AND WAIVERS

All testing accommodations and minimum age waivers are handled by GED Testing Service. The information and requests for these are handled during the registration process.

SCAMS

You can only take the official GED test at an approved testing center. You can’t take the official GED test online or at any other location.
